Florida Health Choices CEO Speaks at Health Affairs’ Conference in Washington, D.C.

Florida Health Choices CEO Rose Naff was a featured panelist at the July 17th Health Affairs’ conference, “After the Supreme Court: Moving Ahead to Implement the Affordable Care Act, Improve Health and Health Care and Lower Costs,” which was held at the National Press Club in Washington D.C.

While the other speakers on the panel presented their state’s efforts to develop a health insurance exchange, Ms. Naff highlighted Florida’s Insurance Marketplace – which was established by the Florida Legislature in 2008 and is a different model from the exchanges under the Affordable Care Act.

“This was a great opportunity to present our state model in contrast to the national one size fits all approach,” Ms. Naff said.

Health Affairs is the leading journal of health policy thought and research. The peer-reviewed journal was founded in 1981 under the aegis of Project HOPE, a nonprofit international health education organization. Health Affairs explores health policy issues of current concern in both domestic and international spheres.

The conference was co-chaired by Mark McClellan, director of the Engelberg Center for Health Care Reform, The Brookings Institution, and former administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and Donald Berwick, former administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
