South Florida Financial Leader Barbar Joins Florida Health Choices Board of Directors

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. —Community and financial leader Jonathan Barbar has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Florida Health Choices, Inc. by Governor Rick Scott. Barbar, 33, of Boca Raton, is the executive vice president of Barbar and Associates LLC. He fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning May 5, 2015, and ending December 4, 2017.

“Barbar’s enthusiasm and forward thinking will help drive Florida Health Choices’ strategy,” said Sherri Meadows, vice chair of the board of directors. “We look forward to benefiting from his experience that is directly relevant to our needs as Florida’s health insurance exchange.”

A Wheaton College alumnus, Barbar holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business and economics and a Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis on finance from Florida Atlantic University.

With a strong commitment to community growth, Barbar holds several leadership positions in the community with organizations including the Board of the YMCA of South Palm Beach County, Westminster Academy Alumni Association, Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Boca Raton Community Church. He is also active in real estate organizations including the National/Florida Association of Realtors, Realtor’s Association of the Palm Beaches, Realtor’s Commercial Alliance, National Association of Office and Industrial Properties, and is a licensed Florida Real Estate Broker.
