Health Choices Adding More Agents to the Marketplace

  • News

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – At their October meeting, the Florida Health Choices Board of Directors approved an expansion of its program that will allow additional insurance agents licensed by the State of Florida to sell comprehensive health insurance products through the Marketplace.

“Opening up the Marketplace to more health insurance agents just makes sense,” said CEO Rose Naff. “Providing them with access to our shop-and-compare technology can help level the playing field for the smaller agencies that may not be able to afford the high cost of establishing an online presence.”

Approved on a pilot basis, a limited number of agents will be provided access to the Marketplace technology where they can obtain quotes and enroll their clients in a health plan. Powerful decision-making tools enable agents to provide comparisons of all available insurance plans and rates, and predict out-of-pocket costs based on the client’s unique health needs.

Participating agents will be compensated by the program with three categories of consulting fees based on the number of enrollments generated. Interested agents may direct their questions or apply for consideration by writing to info@myfloridachoices.org.
